What is an EZ grader?

Before spreadsheets, teachers used a grading wheel — a printed cardboard disc with question counts around the edge and scores inside. Spin to the number of questions, read across to wrong answers, and there's the percentage. This calculator does the same math instantly, with a friendlier face: score = (total − wrong) ÷ total × 100.

Letter grades

Using the standard scale: 90+ = A, 80–89 = B, 70–79 = C, 60–69 = D, below 60 = F. Most schools use a variation (A− at 90, B+ at 87, etc.) — if your grade book differs, the percentage is what you actually record; the letter is just a quick reference.

Batch grading

Paste your whole class list — Name, wrong on each line — and grade everyone against the same question count in one click. The table is copy-paste friendly for your spreadsheet. This is the workflow the old wheel sites never got right on mobile.

Reverse mode

Need a student to score at least 80%? The reverse mode tells you the maximum number of wrong answers allowed for any target percentage — useful when you're designing a test with a pass threshold in mind.
