About the generated file
The download contains a VCALENDAR with one VEVENT. Start and end values are converted from the selected timezone to UTC and written with a trailing Z, so calendar applications can display the same instant correctly.
- RFC 5545 escaping: commas, semicolons, backslashes and line breaks in text fields are escaped before they enter the file.
- Timezone choice: the selected IANA timezone interprets the values you type. The file stores UTC instants rather than relying on a recipient having the same timezone database.
- Privacy: no event data leaves this browser. Treat downloaded files like any calendar invitation, especially when they contain meeting links.
This is a simple single-event generator. Recurrence rules, attendees, alarms and organizer invitations are intentionally not added.
